Francesca Marotta Spring Summer 2013
The Francesca Marotta Spring Summer 2013 salon show was certainly one that we looked forward to with unprecedented excitement. After delivering one of our favourite collections this year with her Autumn Winter 2013 gothic offering.
It will be with no surprise that we are going to solely focus on the noir elements from the SS13 collection,
The textures within the collection were simply exquisite, creating a sensual yet luxury aesthetic that made one want to reach out and touch the juxtaposition of fabric.
Incredibly there was a complete freeness felt within the pieces even with the leather work, something that is traditionally very restrictive.
This is what the collection was entirely about, freeing the body of any restrictions and the sincerity of one’s soul.
The SS13 show did have a strong dose of futurism, portrayed by the collar line of many of the garments, almost as if the top to a space-suit.
Our favourite however was of course the heavyweight black textured leather dress, shown below.
The visors added an empowering element to the show that accented the collection perfectly. Hila Karmand’s outstanding makeup is also worth a mention as it brought the show alive, a fantastic artist.
