It’s no secret that Goths have always been strong followers of sci-fi within modern culture, and for sci-fi fans darkness is only too familiar. But no one has successfully put the two together. Until now.

Photographer Minoru Kaburagi worked with Mariko Ouchi to create ‘Goth Invaders’ a beautiful editorial that combines both the darkness of Gothic with the clean lines and structured shapes of science fiction.

To achieve this aesthetic in the clean, sophisticated manor that this editorial produces was quite a challenge. We’ve seen many attempts before turn in to less than desired cyber goth or super super style results.

To produce the incredible aesthetic styling and wardrobe from Issey Miyake, Preen and Y3 all featured prominently. Even Maison Martin Margiela made an appearance.
