Jean Paul Gaultier Spring Summer 2013
Jean Paul Gaultier is known for making a statement, for making a scene. His love for both feminine and masculine strength is as bold as ever and the Jean Paul Gaultier Spring Summer 2013 collection was no different.
As a homage to the musicians and artists of the 80s his SS13 collection was as eclectic and exciting as ever, once more it meant that for a large part of the show we had a beautiful array of gothic and noir tendencies with a whole host of gender and androgyny thrown in, as per usual.
A plethora of textures including fishnet, lace and chiffon was abundant. A nod to the 80s gothic punk crossover was certainly present, especially with netted jumpers and slingback tops.
One of our favourite elements had to be the cage shirts, strong, powerful and beautifully structured, these accented the lines and shapes of the models creating an incredible empowered silhouette.
With homages throughout the collection to Madonna, Grace Jones and Boy George, this certainly was a show that paid a true and perfect homage to the 1980s.
