When we wrote a piece on Ruby True recently it gave us the chance to show you all a tiny snippet of Kaori’s Latex Dreams incredible design. But the truth is we have been undying fans for quite some time now, so we decided it was time to dedicate an entire and quite possibly lengthy article to this extraordinary talent.

Vowing to create something different, something unusual and something sophisticated, Kaori states “At the moment the rubber that ends up in the major magazines/videos are quite generic.. When I started designing 6 years ago, I thought, I’m only 5”3 and I’m not going to look good in catsuits, I always want to think of something young and versatile.”

Without doubt, that is exactly what Kaori seems to create. Her wondrous designs have such an innovative approach, from shapes and silhouettes to the use of transparent rubber and even that simply gorgeous “dripping effect” shown below. Alongside this, the aforementioned sophistication just takes Kaori Matsubara‘s pieces to that extra level, showing the world just how beautiful this fabric really can be.

Another thing that really impresses us about Kaori, (yes apart from her outstanding design talent, vision and aesthetic, I know it’s alot to take in) is her mighty, almost colossal web presence. It’s seriously refreshing to see someone as talented as her, that actually understands the web as well. Infact, Kaori’s mission on the designer’s Facebook page simply reads “World Domination”. Apart from having to fight us for it in a monstrous world wide battle, where latex, fetish models & armour will be left scattered across the globe, we are pretty damn sure she will get it and sooner than you imagine.

After all, this woman has already covered London, Amsterdam, Athens and Tokyo with a series of successful fashion shows. Is there anywhere worthwhile left for her to own? Maybe not, but as she states “I really genuinely hope more people wear rubber” we are sure until every person has latex options in their own wardrobes, Kaori Matsubara will not rest!
