London United
London United is a project designed to create opportunities and support young people in our capital. A charity founded by the agencies Exposure and Cake, after the disturbing scenes of the London riots earlier this year.
London United states: “The city is rich in diversity, but sometimes poor in equality. When you’re one out of eight million it can be both challenging and hostile.”
It was this that really took our interest at Stylenoir. For individuality is often under fire in the Capital. Whilst London is a fantastic city for creativity and diversity, there is also a very high frequency of prejudice and abuse against individuality.
To launch the Charity, London United put together an exhibition, collaborating with Agent Provocateur photographer Chris Floyd. Creating a diverse mixture of subjects, including Alexis Knox, Nik Thakkar, Stylenoir, Don Letts and Munroe Bergdorf.
The exhibition is currently shown in the Exposure Gallery, and from December will be shown at the Mayor’s office, City Hall.
