Maybe Belle Sauvage need to change their name to Savage. Because that is exactly what the collection was. Just as aggressive as it was dark. The perfect combination. The first thing that came to mind was the iconic film Aliens. The hair for the whole show seemed to reflect the shape of the Alien’s armoured head as well as leather piping draped off the shoulder, there was really no mistake that influences were from science fiction as well as some eerie sense of malevolence. Matte leather was a very welcome re-occurring theme along with chiffon and structured lines that created the sense of soft armoury. One of our favourites from the collection has to be the playsuit covered in a monochrome pattern adorned with skulls and bats. Apart from the monochrome patterns, abundance of leather and gold zips, a palette of rich colour emerged including fuschia, aqua and yellows. This might have created an uplifting segment to the collection, but for some reason it managed to retain the sinister and twisted feel that the whole show contained. In short the Belle Sauvage Autumn Winter 2010 collection would be the perfect addition to Stylenoir’s wardrobe. Infact, we’re thinking of making it uniform at the office. We simply can’t wait until this collection is on the shop floor. - James Mills
