John Rocha Autumn Winter 2010

John Rocha Autumn Winter 2010

John Rocha's Autumn Winter 2010 collection was truly remarkable and definitely one to be proud of after his 25 years at London Fashion Week. This modern take on Edwardian time came as a pleasant shock to us. A dark colour palette consisting of five shades of blacks, intertwined with grey, creamy white, ashen rose, shadowed brown and silvers, undoubtedly brought a sense of strength to the catwalk.

Leather folds and coils created a rippled effect and brought a layer of fluidity to the collection, which, mixed with the hardness of the blacks created a simply perfect balance. The large, intricate tailored dresses certainly were the focal point of the show; the lace and leathers complimented each other resulting in a beautiful mix of the vivid silhouettes and the light swing of the garments.

Menswear added a new dimension to the runway, with over sized, tailored jackets paired with bowler hats, loose leather sleeveless jackets and small chin bows. The layering distorted the figure creating an intriguing yet fascinating collection.

In all seriousness this was the best Rocha collection we have ever attended, for AW 2010 he had stepped it up to a completely new level and it really did show.
