Nicki Minaj Holds Google+ Users Hostage

Both myself at Stylenoir and Daniel Haim at Bloginity are huge fans of Gary Vaynerchuck who just released the below video on Celebrities holding users hostage with social media including Google+

We totally agree with Gary and find this so ridiculous that I just had to post about it to share with you all. As Gary says, mocking Nicki Minaj: “The thought of, ‘let’s share this so it’s good for me, and if you don’t I’m going to hold you hostage, until I can pitch you some more’… is insanity”

When will celebrities and brands understand that social is about pulling users and engaging with them? Not pushing content down their throats?

Personally, I don’t want to be held hostage, it doesn’t sound like a great experience to me.
