Ray-Ban honour Legends for 75th Anniversary with Primal Scream
For 75 years, Ray-Ban has been there where records were broken, conventions challenged, the rules have been unwritten, and ideas were born.
This year the brand celebrates not only its 75th anniversary but its status as a global icon. Known for its instantly popular designs, originality and timelessness, Ray-Ban has surpassed time and fashion trends. It’s Never Hide mantra is known across the world, and for good reason.
Since helping US Air Force pilots reach new heights in 1937, Ray-Ban sunglasses have been an ever present driving force as popular culture changed over the decades. Ray-Ban has spent its life championing and pioneering individuality across the globe.
Aligned with the Never Hide spirit, Ray-Ban’s 75th Anniversary Celebration campaign’s seven protagonists unconsciously broke the mould, their eyes were open while the world’s were closed. Each image focuses on the story of these legends, one from each decade during the brand’s incredible life. The shot below encapsulates the story of Donna Ellaby, a member of the NYC Student Mobilisation Against the War, and the moment the police used tear gas against a student protest in the May Day Protests of 1971. You can see the full story in Donna’s words, and others here.
