September Letter From The Editor
So it seems that macabre and malevolence is once again flirting with the mighty mainstream trends as September dawns and the nights draw longer.
After three years of pioneering the noir aesthetic and our growth into the largest dark style magazine on the planet, this makes it seem all worth while.
With Valentino debuting a complete NOIR collection, Alex Box’s British Vogue writing debut on “Her Dark Materials” as well as gothic taking Spring Summer by storm.
We have started to see a movement that has never been seen before, it gives me hope that our darkness grows stronger.
It would mean so much for all of the incredible, beautiful, macabre talent to rise. I want darkness to take centre stage of romance and aesthetic, and I want to nuture that. Competition, demand, all pushes innovation and revolution, and right now darkness needs one hell of a revolution.
During London Fashion Week we will be debuting some new team members, creatures I have carefully picked from noir over the past few months. The rightful holders of noir are ever growing stronger, and we will do everything in our power to help grow the talent it beholds.
With new work from John Rocha, Riccardo Tisci and Rick Owens days away from debut, September will be the peculiar month when the summer bowed to the power of macabre and once and for all… “Mors Vincit Omnia“.
