Elie Saab Autumn Winter 2012 Couture
14th July
The first seven pieces of the Elie Saab Autumn Winter 2012 couture collection really caught our attention. In fact, it simply took our breath away. If anything reflected the aesthetic of style noir it was this section of the Elie Saab collection.
Elie Saab is already one of our favourite designers on the planet, creating achingly beautiful and delicate couture gowns that are celestially devine.
The attention to detail and embellishments are simply incredible. The black tulle within the gowns works beautifully with the silhouette and cut.
The noir element of the Autumn Winter 2012 couture is one of the most magnificent visions we have seen in recent times. It’s time to start adding the name Elie Saab to the all time greatest designers in history.

Alice Dellal For Chanel 31 RUE CAMBON Autumn Winter 12
19th June

No matter how many times at Stylenoir Magazine we cite our favourite new models. Whether it be Charlotte free, Flavia Lucini or Georgie Hobday. There is one girl who will always epitomise the Stylenoir aesthetic; Alice Dellal.
Alice Dellal appears her for 31 Rue Cambon Chanel. Alice Dellal has become a strong favourite of Karl Lagerfeld, and now, after the Chanel Boy collection appears in this beautiful photoshoot by Karim Sadli.
Karim captures her very essence of sophisticated edge, the one thing we love about her so much. No matter whether you’re a billionaire heiress, you can still hold yourself how you want and be individiaul, even in the wealth brigade.

22nd April

The infamous Alexander McQueen label returned to London Fashion Week with the McQ AW12 collection. With this monumental event in the fashion calender, it is no surprise that Mac Cosmetics were on hand to create the beauty looks to compliment the collection, which was certainly a show stealer.
Tokyo Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2012 Tokyo Telephone & StyleNoir Roundup
25th March

Tokyo has long been considered the capital of style for the discerning devotee, and the newly Mercedes-Benz-sponsored Fashion Week Tokyo is no exception. Tokyo Telephone‘s Rebecca takes a look at the darker side of Fashion Week…
You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to clothing and design with an edgier twist here in Tokyo, and it was surprisingly well represented at this season’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo given the number of participating designers.
Japanese fashion as a whole is a vast melting pot of trends, inspiration and flawlessly executed fashion, and it’s no wonder that so many talented designers rise to the top and become part of the large machine that is Fashion Week. It’s a crucial step for many young creators, and of course I’m always more than happy to see clothing I’d actually love to wear making it’s way down … Read More »
Corrie Nielsen: Fashion For the Brave
21st March

While you may have heard about Corrie Nielsen and her Fashion for the Brave dress already, as it already has had mass media attention, we wanted to take a minute to reflect on the fantastic creation.
Last week I had the pleasure of meeting up with Nielsen herself, and there in the middle of the studio, as if a statue, a pinnacle of achievement stood the dress, perhaps standing testament to the strong ideals and substance of Corrie Nielsen’s incredible work.
To see it up that close was such a pleasure. The technique, skill and attention to detail was unprecedented. It just proved that what we stated about Corrie Nielsen’s LFW AW12 show was unquestionable.
Nielsen stated “This is an extremely important event for the country and being selected as the designer to create the showpiece dress is amazing,” , … Read More »
Skingraft AW 2012: Urban Jungle
17th March
Expect the usual ferocity and fire from the new collection from Skingraft this season. Designer Jonny Cota never fails to deliver divine vehemency when creating his bevy of dark beauties, each garment painstakingly constructed by hand, the care in the conception always ascertainable and appreciated.
The event was held at the Vibiana Cathedral, a breathtakingly sublime venue for the equally enticing show to occupy it. The eager faces waiting in anticipation for the lights to go down and the show to begin were those that most would covet, dressed in black and appearing as if they too, were a part of the Skingraft army.
Leathers in greys, blacks, browns, and off-whites dominated the melange of more “street friendly” pieces; the vibe was what Cota describes as, “a lot more urban–and I hate the word urban–but it’s a lot more streetwear, it’s a little less tailored, a little less Gothy, … Read More »
Rick Owens Autumn Winter 12
13th March

We featured the Rick Owens beauty by MAC cosmetics earlier this month, but held off for the full collection.
Rick Owens is the master of aesthetic, every single piece and garment produced echoes that signature style. There is no doubt behind why he has generated such a cult following.
Again, throughout this seasons fashion weeks Stylenoir has been defending the fashion ‘show’ and Rick Owens followed suit, with the presence of flames at the back of the runway, the aesthetic of the surroundings, it certainly gave a nod towards creating a show, as we’ve been asking for.
Rick Owens for many will always be prominent among the top designers of this generation, and it’s that signature style, that aesthetic that sets him above the rest. If ever there was a burning flame in fashion, it’s Owens.
