Taylor Momsen; Pretty Reckless
Taylor Momsen may have shot to mainstream fame through The Pretty Reckless and Gossip Girl but there is no doubt she is probably one of the most controversial teenagers in the world. Her aesthetic and style whilst edgy and bold are nothing compared to her attitude and fearless persona.
It’s obvious that Taylor Momsen takes her individuality very seriously, stating: “I try to be original and have my own style, there’s a certain way I love to dress. I’ve always dressed differently… but that’s the great thing about fashion, it doesn’t have to be for everyone. It’s personal and however you look is a reflection of you.”
It’s that style and attitude that has made her the rebellious individual she is. Not conforming, but pushing her edgy aesthetic and style through the art forms of music and fashion.
Her own gothic and decadent look, and of course those signature stockings have evolved into something true from Taylor Momsen’s Gossip Girl days. But that, is just the tip of the iceberg…
Taylor Momsen has come along way since her child superstar upbringing. At 14 being signed to IMG models she quickly became the face of the John Galliano fragrance, New Look and even Madonna’s Material Girl clothing line.
Now 17, it’s great to see even through the pressure of celebrity and Hollywood, she has made her personality and style her own and become that champion for individualism.
This has come at a cost for Momsen, when she was dropped by her agency, due to her controversial nature and rebellion. But since Taylor Momsen is Pretty Reckless, what do you expect? For you should never change your individuality and vision just to impress, or keep in line with society. So why should Taylor?

Nice article but Taylor wasn’t dropped by IMG. They even made a statement about it after some tabloid type site claimed it. She parted with them a year before that because she simply didn’t sign with them again. She actually wasn’t even with them when she did all these campaigns.
